Happy New Year...a slow but thoughtful start to the year

Yes I know what you're thinking I'm a bit late to the party (as we're nearly half way through Jan already oops!) but I've been very reflective and I wanted to resurrect my blog so here we are! This is mostly thanks to my new journal (wahoo) which I'll outline in a bit.
I'll l be honest with you, though, I usually find January a bit overwhelming. I'm usually feeling a bit frazzled and burnt out from Christmas, and the darkness and coldness of Winter really kicks in and I find myself feeling really unmotivated. Anyone else relate?
So this year I've decided to do things a little differently and get myself organised so I thought what a better way to do that so I researched planners. That was when I found 'the maker's yearbook' and it had great reviews, seemed to be targeted towards makers and small businesses, plus the cover looked pretty so that was a win too! As you know I'm a sucker for a bit of pattern and colour.
It arrived a few days later and I loved it instantly so I was pleased I made the right decision. You never really do know online until you've got it in your hands right? It was lovely quality and I started to flick through it immediately. I made myself a coffee and grabbed a pen and started to evaluate 2024, then my hopes, dreams and goals for 2025. It breaks it all down into sections with hints and tips along the way so it will be interesting to see how I get on. And, the big question is will it help to keep me on track? As well as breaking it all down it also has space to 'brain dump' which is a useful spot to jot my late night thoughts down on.
In other news I've had my sketchbook out and drawn up designs as I've got lots of ideas brewing so watch this space for more on that. I'm hoping this blog keeps me accountable and makes me push on throughout the whole year through so fingers crossed. But in all honesty as I like to keep it real, and all this planning is great, but I'm also being kind to myself and easing my way back in gently. I've even had a bit of clay out this week so hopefully I'll have a bit more to 'show’ next time. I'll pop it in my new planner shall I ha?!
Hope you all have a good rest of the week and chat soon :-)
